GSIS Alma Mater share their thoughts on their school…

Dear Good Shepherd

I want to start by saying thank you for everything you have done for me. if it wasn't for all the strong, respectable values you instilled upon me, I don't think I would have made it to where I am now. I am currently studying at the United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA East Campus), and although my grades were not the absolute best in the world, I managed to make it here because the school looks for all the qualities you teach to the children in your school. The importance of family, looking after one another and supporting each other and not just standing by when something is wrong in the community but rather speaking up about it and doing something about it.

You have taught me to have faith that God will help me when I fear and listen to him, however, not just be lazy, but also try to do something that will help myself and those around me. I will never take being in Good Shepherd for granted, it will always be a part of my life (sometimes I even almost end up shouting out 'Good Shepherd' when I am supposed to be cheering for UWCSEA East at a sports event). I am not perfect, but because of my experience, I know that every child at GSIS has a chance to go places in the world and make a difference, I wish everyone well and pray that God blesses you all.

Yours Faithfully

Phunziro Phuza

“Good Shepherd prepared me in several ways.

It taught me the basic fundamentals to being a successful student. With the aid of my teachers who made sure I optimized my potential, I was well equipped with the qualities I needed to survive in college.

I’ve become a self-starter because of the life skills imparted to me by the great men and women (my teachers) and directors who personally took their time to direct me towards a successful career.

At Good Shepherd, it’s not only the grades that matter, the moral values I obtained from the institution are one of the pillars I shall always be grateful of.

Having graduated from the University of Malawi with a degree in Bachelors of Internal Audit (credit), I’m currently working as an Auditor at Deloitte & Touché and happen to be one of the 43 Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) in Malawi.

GSIS has highly contributed to the man I’ve become now and I cannot fully express the gratitude I have."
